Herkimer County NY Deed Book 25, page 252, dated 20 July 1820 and recorded 30 June 1831 at 1/2 past 12 oclock between grantor, John H. Merville, of Columbia, Herkimer Co., N.Y. of the first part and grantee, Aaron Ward, of Warren, Herkimer Co., N.Y. of the second part. Merville conveys to Ward a parcel of land lying in the town of Columbia which is part of a patent granted to James Henderson and others known as part of great Lot number eight with a legal description following. The land was bounded by the lands of Stephen Griffith, Merville and Ward and contained eleven acres more or less excluding 1/4 acre which  was sold to Fredrick Lyman for a mill yard near his saw mill.
